Jackson Partners With Harlem Globetrotters To Promote 2017 World Tour

Jackson Marketing, Motorsports & Events has been selected by the Harlem Globetrotters® as Agency of Record to develop creative elements promoting more than 300 North American stops on the legendary basketball team’s 2017 World Tour.
For 90 years, the Harlem Globetrotters has been synonymous with one-of-a-kind family entertainment. The iconic team has showcased its spectacular basketball skills and comedic talent in 122 countries and territories on six continents, often breaking down cultural and societal barriers while providing fans with their first-ever basketball experience. An inductee of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the team’s line-up has included some of the game’s greatest players, including today’s stars Big Easy Lofton, Ant Atkinson, Hi-Lite Bruton, Cheese Chisholm, Thunder Law and TNT Lister, as well as past stars Wilt Chamberlain, Marques Haynes, Curly Neal and Connie Hawkins.
Jackson will design and create advertising campaigns to promote Globetrotters appearances at more than 300 venues throughout the United States and Canada, including a stop in Greenville, S.C. in April 2017, according to David Jones, Jackson Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.
“To be associated with a quintessential brand like the Harlem Globetrotters obviously is a thrill for our agency,” Jones said. “The Globetrotters are legendary not only for great basketball, but also for fun, family entertainment that has lasted for generations.”
The Atlanta-based Harlem Globetrotters considered proposals from agencies across the nation before selecting Jackson as its creative partner, according to Holly Duncan, Director of Brand Marketing for the Harlem Globetrotters.
“As the Harlem Globetrotters look beyond our 90th anniversary and toward our next milestone of 100 years of fun, we intend to continuously innovate the game. As such, we are embracing the opportunity to reimagine our brand as a content creator as well as a live event entertainment experience with a contemporary sports focus,” Duncan said. “We chose Jackson as the agency that would help reinvent our brand’s representation within marketing creative, and were impressed by their client-centric focus as well as expertise and experience in sports marketing.”
