Six in 10 Twitter users want businesses to answer their tweets, if businesses will offer a good quality response. However, an average of 31% − half of what is desired – actually receives answers to their questions from a business/brand.
If a brand answers them, 64% of Twitter users say they are more likely to follow the business and make a purchase.
Does anyone see the opportunity here?
I'm not promising that if you tweet, they will buy. But the opportunity for brand loyalty and improving sales is real via 140 character microblogging. Take advantage of it, whether you tweet as yourself or as your brand.
Twitter users want to hear from your brand. (This goes for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer interactions.)
Twitter users also want you to pay attention to their brand. It's amazing how many tweeters want nothing more than a retweet or reply.
Recently, @Mashable laid it out plain and simple: “Twitter is not about you, it's about your audience. Figure out what your audience wants to hear about and tweet it.”
