Corporate Holiday Traditions? We Say Party On!

by Alicia Pflug

It's that time of year; Turkeys, pies, Christmas cards, Christmas shopping….and holiday parties. If you are blessed enough to work at a place like Jackson Marketing Group you look forward to two annual events: Tuesday's Pre-Thanksgiving Luncheon and the White Elephant gift exchange, which is played the day of the Christmas Dinner (and yes, we call it the CHRISTmas Dinner).

We don't get a $20,000 Christmas bonus, or a three-day, all-expenses-paid trip to Las Vegas to celebrate the Holidays; but we do have the opportunity to fellowship with our colleagues in a fun, relaxed, family-like atmosphere. And that's just fine by me.

Some companies are so busy monitoring the bottom line that they forget about the people who make the money for them. JMG has always embraced associates and clients as family and friends. We celebrate together by having a casual Thanksgiving lunch, receiving the anticipated JMG Christmas Card, a fun day of a gift exchange game, a nice Christmas Dinner…. Oh yeah, and several days off around the Holidays.

So, thank you JMG for embracing internal events, boosting morale, and supporting friendships amongst colleagues. And feel free to share your corporate holiday traditions in the comments below!
